DROP OFF & PICKING UP ARRANGEMENTS
Beginning of the day
We take the safety of our children very seriously and as our school is on a very busy road with very little road parking space, we ask parents to drive into the Village Hall car park and drop their children off in the car park. From 8.25 a.m. Mr Croft will be on hand to assist children and see them safely through the gate adjoining the school playground. Although this is an unusual arrangement we have found this to be a very swift and safe system for seeing children onto the school site. The gate that joins the village hall car park to the school is locked at 8.50 a.m.
The playground is supervised by staff from 8.25 a.m.
Parents of children in Lightning Learners, Shooting Stars and Magical Minds will bring their children to the external door of the classrooms. Class Teachers will open the door from 8.25 a.m.
KS2 children enter via the Village Hall car park. Reception and KS1 are also able to enter this way if they wish or parents can drop children off directly to the external classroom doors.
We expect all children to be on time and school starts at 8.45a.m. After 9.05 a.m. children are deemed late and should be taken to the school office to be registered. Any children who arrive after the Village Hall gate and the side gate are locked, will enter through the office.
The office is staffed by both Mrs Jayne Cootes (School Business Manager) and Mrs Tracy Deane (Admin Assistant).
End of the day
Mr Flores (Caretaker) will open the gate to the the KS1 entrance at 2.55 p.m. where parents can wait for the KS1 classes outside their external doors. Teachers will release KS2 children at 3.15 p.m (the playground gates to KS2 classrooms will be open at 3.10 p.m) once they can see the adult expected for each child. Rec & KS1 teachers will release children directly from their classroom at 3.00 p.m. Class teachers will keep children with them for 10 minutes after which time children will be taken to the office to wait the arrival of the adult who is collecting them.
Children will enter through the classroom external door which leads onto the car park. If children arrive after 9.05 a.m., they should be taken to the school office.
Office Staff will alert Pre-School staff, who will come to the main door to collect the child/children.
If you need to bring or collect your child from Pre-School during the school session or wish to speak with Pre-school staff during a session, please come to the main School Office. Pre-school staff will not open the external door to any adults during the school session. At the end of the day Staff will hand your child over to the named adult from the external door which leads onto the school car park.
