Stapleford Abbotts Primary Academy has a school uniform policy and we therefore expect all children to come to school wearing our school colours, which are red, white and black. We have a school uniform at Stapleford Abbotts because we know that the vast majority of parents and the school staff strongly support it.

We are in favour of school uniform because we want the children to feel proud of their school and to feel that they are coming here every day to do important and serious work, as well as to see their friends and enjoy themselves.

Please ensure that all items of clothing are named as this makes it easy to return lost property to the correct owner.

Outdoor Clothing

All children must have a warm, waterproof outdoor coat for playtimes.

If the school red coat is not worn an alternative is a plain black or navy-blue anorak style coat with a hood.

In Spring and Autumn terms a red fleece or plain black or navy-blue fleece can be worn as an alternative to an outdoor coat.

Fleeces are for outdoor wear and should not be worn in the classroom.

School shoes must be formal black leather (or leather like shoes) which are able to be polished. The shoes must be sturdy and water proof with non-slip soles. Trainers and training shoes are not acceptable.

Girls’ shoes must have heels no higher than 2 cms.

Jewellery should not be worn for school (with the exception of small stud ear-rings).

Make-up and nail polish should not be worn in school.

Please note children need a change of footwear for use on the playground or field from their everyday shoes in school, to plimsolls or trainers for outdoor. This is important for hygiene and also helps to keep the school building clean.

School Book bags and reading records should be brought to school every morning; and PE bags displaying the school logo are required as appropriate.  No other bags are required and should not be brought to school.
