Willow class have worked hard all year on their writing. Here is their last hot task from Talk for Writing of a newspaper about a recount of their school trip. They managed to order events correctly, use past tense, use simple time connectives e.g. first, then, after that, finally and use simple conjunctions. Well done Willow class, Miss Lynch is very proud of all your hard work and success.

Wednesday 7th June

Willow class summer school trip. Willow class had a great time at the zoo, the day started with an exciting woodland dinosaur walk, where the
children saw life sized dinosaurs that were interactive and moved.
The children learnt the dinosaur names and discussed whether
they were carnivores or herbivores. It featured 30 life size moving
and roaring dinosaurs. From cunning Velociraptors, to vast Brachiosaurus, from terrifying
Spinosaurus to unpronounceable Pachycephalosaurus, plus of course, a mighty T Rex.
The children then had a dinosaur talk where we learnt about the adaptations of dinosaurs, how
they were extinct, as well as other animals that are extinct and endangered.

The curriculum is based on child-led outdoor play, which aims to harness children’s curiosity and exploration. Children at forest schools learn through hands-on experiences and develop their imaginations through limited and simple resources—things like mud and sticks.

We loved celebrating King George III Coronation with a tea party with our friends.  Dressed in red, white and blue we ate a special 'royal' lunch and sang The National anthem with our best singing voices.
